Creating Safe Space for Hard Conversations
One of my main goals in writing my book was to help faith community leaders engage in some hard and difficult conversations as it relates to church decline and diminishing impact. The key component in being able to do this is to make sure that you have created space in your community where people have psychological safety. Meaning, they feel safe in sharing their thoughts and ideas that might be disruptive or radically different than others sharing in the conversation. This doesn't just happen because you wish for it. There is much intentionality needed in creating such space. I invited two of my
colleagues to share their experiences in helping faith communities develop these spaces of psychological safety and the great things that can happen when you do so. Enjoy the conversation.
